The Hot Cat Jazz Band performs summer gazebo, church and library concerts throughout CT while specializing in New Orleans Jazz, Swing and Big Band. The Hot Cats have become increasingly popular for their exciting and entertaining performances, coupled with hard blowing and original arrangements of traditional jazz standards. Our prime influences include the likes of Louis Armstrong, Fats Waller, Jellyroll Morton, Louis Jordan, Louis Prima and Duke Ellington.

A typical Hot Cat Jazz Band summer park or gazebo concert includes entertainment for the entire family (age 5 to age 95). Their repertoire includes Swing standards of George Gershwin, Cole Porter and Duke Ellington such as Take The A Train, All Of Me and Fly Me to the Moon; Big band hits of Benny Goodman, Glenn Miller and Tommy Dorsey such as Chattanooga Choo Choo, Jump Jive and Wail and In The Mood; Popular songs from the 1920’s such as Ain’t She Sweet, Bill Bailey and Bye Bye Blackbird; New Orleans Dixieland favorites such as Bourbon Street Parade, Muskrat Ramble, When The Saints Go Marching In and the Tiger Rag. The Hot Cat Jazz Band can also perform 1950’s thru 1980’s Classic Rock from the Beatles, Jimmy Buffet, James Taylor, Van Morrison and Paul Simon such as Here Comes The Sun, Brown Eyed Girl and Under The Boardwalk (please see our sample concert repertoire below).

The Hot Cats also play songs from Walt Disney Movies for the ‘kid’ in all of us, such as Under the Sea (Little Mermaid) and I Wanna Be Like You (Jungle Book).

The Hot Cat Jazz Band will create a program to fit your needs. If you would like us to stick with the New Orleans Jazz, Swing and Big Band – that’s what you’ll get. If you want us to mix it up a bit by sprinkling in some Beatles and Jimmy Buffet – we will be happy to do that as well.

A Hot Cat Jazz Band concert guarantees that you will be walking home from the performance singing and tapping your toes.
